From first analysis to first bid.

Most of the work is paperwork and approvals, and we carry most of it. This is how a project runs, and what we ask of you along the way.

A BoilerGreen hybrid boiler at a plant in Finland.

Four steps to the first bid.

  1. Energy analysis

We run your steam demand, boilers and price area through our steam calculator. You see what is possible before anyone visits.

  2. Site survey and business case

We visit the boiler room, then send a case with your own prices and steam demand, in money you can take to the board.

  3. Agreement and funding

We agree the operating limits, the fee and the share of documented savings. In Norway we write the Enova application with you.

  4. Installation and first bid

Installation is planned around production. Once the grid operator approves the boiler, BoilOptimizer starts buying energy and bidding.

Approvals from the grid operator and the boiler inspector usually take longest, so many plants decide in the autumn and install in the spring.

Before we talk.

The questions production managers, finance managers and technicians ask first.

Can production stop during a market activation?

BoilOptimizer only bids capacity your plant can spare, within the limits you agree with us. When the electric side steps down, the burner or your gas boiler takes over and the steam to production stays the same.

If something looks wrong, your operators take over locally. The emergency stop in the cabinet cuts all remote control while the boiler keeps running.

Do we need a new boiler?

No. BoilOptimizer works on existing electric, electrode, gas and oil boilers. If your boiler is near the end of its life, the Hybrid Boiler replaces it with the control built in.

What does it cost?

BoilOptimizer has a fixed monthly fee plus a share of the savings and flexibility income we document, so the fee follows the result. The Hybrid Boiler can be bought or run as a service. We can also set up financing, with Enova support where your plant qualifies, so you don’t spend money before the value is clear. The energy analysis shows you the numbers first.

Can we get Enova support?

Often, if the plant is in Norway. Enova supports industry that moves steam and heat from gas or oil to electricity. We write the application with you and put the support into the business case. How we help with Enova.

What if electricity costs more than gas all winter?

Then the boiler runs on gas, as it would without us, and there is little saving to share. The fixed fee is the part you always pay.

How does the cabinet connect to the boiler?

Over Modbus TCP, through an industrial PC behind a firewall. The boiler’s own PLC is never exposed to the internet.

What do we need to provide?

Access to the boiler room, your production plan and a contact person on site. We handle the market side: prequalification, bids and settlement.

Start with step one.

An energy analysis with our steam calculator. Bring what you know about steam demand, the boiler and your energy bill.
